I’m the family Topanga and that should have said enough about my missed Autism.

Where are all my nineties Boy Meets World fanatics?! No matter what character was your favorite, we all have some love in our hearts reserved for Topanga. The quirky, artistic, I swear is autistic, heartthrob partner of Cory Matthews. Topanga will forever be my favorite character and I now realize it is because I heavily related to her character without realizing it was due to many Autistic traits she portrayed on that show.

I am absolutely the family Topanga. As a child I had long wavy hair and funky 90’s fashion that my mother undoubtedly dressed me in, but I fashionably tweaked to make my own statements. I loved torn denim (still do), lace dresses (still do), and quirky mixes of patterns and textures. I felt emotionally attached to and poetic about life experiences. Everything I have ever done for a project, assignment, or to get a job done has held some special artistic meaning that I had to express and feel.

I specifically love the famous episode where Topanga draws lipstick all over her face and performs her poem out loud in front of Cory who just thinks she is a total weirdo.
